David George Palmer, Sr., age 85, of Erie, Pa., went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2022. He was preceeded in death by his parents George Palmer Jr. and Josephine (Palmer) Donche and his wife of 53 years, Phyllis M. (Daugherty) Palmer, whom he's "missed everyday" for 10 years and has now joined her in the Lord's presence. He was also preceeded in death by his twin sister, Delores (Dee) Servidio and his grandson, Race Schulze.
David was a humble man who worked hard his entire life to provide for his family and remain independent, always managing to make it through life's difficulties without a complaint. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather, but most importantly a cherished friend and confidant to so many of his family. He was loyal and honest and taught his family through his life example that there's always a way to succeed and never stop fighting for what you believe in. He enjoyed spending time with his family, staying active, taking long 4 mile walks through the age of 83, driving around Presque Isle (especially when he had his beloved wife by his side) and reading books, often western novels, as well as playing Soduko to keep his mind sharp.
He will be missed dearly every day by all who loved him and will remain forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his brothers Louis Donche, McKean, Pa., Terry Palmer (Janet) Waterford, Pa., Tim Palmer, NC, George Palmer (Buella) Scottsdale, AZ, sisters Phyllis Krajnik, Deb Palmer (Mitch) Europe, Charlotte Heverly (Robert) Waterford, Pa, Brenda Shank (Brian) Erie, Pa., and Peggy Morana (John) Erie, Pa.
He is further survived by his eight children, David Palmer Jr. (Angela) of Fredericksburg, Va, Lisa Weislogel (Brad) of Erie, Carolyn Leszek (Rick) of Erie, Jeffrey Palmer (Brenda) of NC, Gregory Palmer (Cheryl) of Raleigh, NC, Clifford Palmer (Rickal) of Erie, Samantha Brown (Ken) of Girard, Pa and Phillip Palmer of Lexington, NC,; 20 grandchildren as well as several step grandchildren, 24 great g randchildren as well as two on the way, and 1 great-great grandchild as well as countless nieces and nephews. What a legacy!
