David O'Connell

     David Paul O'Connell, 58, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at his residence in Erie.  He was born November 27, 1955, in Erie, son of Robert Paul O'Connell and the late Ann Degner O'Connell Rice.  He attended Tech Memorial High School and worked for Jabe Construction for many years.  David was an avid golfer and was a former member of the Maennerchor, Siebenbuerger, and Zukor Clubs, Knights of St. John, and South Erie Turners.
     In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A. O'Connell and his stepfather, James H. Rice.
     In addition to his father of Erie, survivors include two daughters, Stacey O'Connell Newman and husband Ryan of Temperance, MI and Katie Schroyer and husband Chad of Erie; a son, Kyle Schrader of Erie; two grandsons, Collin and Eli Ryan Newman of Temperance, MI; five brothers, Robert O'Connell and wife Donna, G. Michael O'Connell and wife Robin, Stephen O'Connell, Richard O'Connell, and William O'Connell and wife Charlene, all of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.  
     A graveside service at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Section 16, will be held Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Raymond W. Hahn will officiate.
