David Mcintire

David McIntire age 74, of Erie, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Erie, PA on September 3, 1938 a son of the late John "Ted" and Elizabeth Hellmann McIntire.

He attended Cathedral Prep and Academy High School, and served in the USMC.

In 1971 he married the late Eva Jean Bell McIntire and raised five children. David worked for Temple Inland Container as a press operator for 37 years.

He was an active member of St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church. David enjoyed golf, college football and was an avid Notre Dame fan.

David is survived by four sons: James McIntire, David McIntire, Steven McIntire and his wife Lori, Michael McIntire and his wife "Dana", a daughter Linda Lewis, a brother Thomas J. McIntire and his wife Joanne of Erie, a sister Diane P. Porowski and her husband Edwin of Waterford; seven grandchildren: Sarah Hill and fiancé Franklin Buck, Greg Hill and his wife Amanda, Elizabeth Hill, Jenn McInture, Josh McIntire, Austin Willey-McIntire, Brody McIntire, and his faithful dog, Sherman McIntire.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, Pa. 16502 on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to prayers at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30 followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 1116 West 7th Street, Erie, Pa. 16502.
