David Cyterski

David J. Cyterski, age 61, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, June 07, 2017 at St. Mary’s Asbury Ridge.

He was born in Erie on July 30, 1955, the son of the late Joseph and Florence Cyterski.

He graduated from Our Lady of Peace Grade School Class of 1969, Cathedral Prep School Class of 1973, going on to earn a degree in Biology and Chemistry at Gannon University in May 1977, and received his MBA in 1987 at Gannon University. 

David was employed at LORD Corp from October 3, 1977 until January 13, 2016 as a Technical Service Lab Technician, a Technical Service Representative & Specialist; Chemist; Marketing Manager for Industrial Coatings, and Program Manager for Elastomer Adhesives & Coatings.  He was also previously employed at Saint Vincent Health Center from 1975-1978 as an emergency room orderly.

David was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church where he served as a past parish council member and president. He was a beloved basketball coach at OLP for several years, served as a PIAA Basketball official starting in 2002, was a sport afficiando, especially college basketball and football. He considered himself a non-avid golfer.  His greatest joys was spending time with family, especially his grandsons and visiting his children who live out of town.

David is survived by his wife, Diane of Erie; son Matthew D. Cyterski and his wife Shweta of Mountain View, CA, his daughter Jessica L. Budacki, her husband Jamison, of Erie, and son Eric M. Cyterski and his fiancé Brandy of Greenville, SC; three grandsons, Carter and Callum Budacki, and baby boy Cyterski; two sisters, Anita Donovan and her husband Jeff of Erie, and Andrea Acosta and her husband Bobby of San Antonio, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church 2401 W. 38^th Street, Erie, PA 16506. Inurnment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
