David Cortes

     David D. "Wave" Cortes, 54, died Friday, June 5, 2015, at his home in Erie.  He was born September 20, 1960, in Erie, son of the late Antonio M. and Alberta B. Drayer Cortes.  He worked for All Weather Roofing & Siding Co. and previously in the Maintenance Department of St. Vincent Health Center.  Mr. Cortes was an avid pool player winning numerous local championships and enjoyed listening to rock and roll music.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Cortes.
     Survivors include three daughters, Jennifer, Ania and Brittney Cortes, all of Erie, a son, Michael Cortes of Erie; and two stepdaughters, Desiree Hawkins (Jeremy) and Elizabeth Orzechowski (Dan), both of Erie; five sisters, Caryl Arce of NC and Brenda Horn, Lana Maddux, Gloria Ortiz (Neno) and Lisa Heil (Mark), all of Erie; two brothers, James F. Gilger and Daniel Cortes, both of Erie; fourteen grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
     Friends may attend a Memorial Service at Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street., Friday, June 12, 2015 at 1 p.m.  The Rev. Gregory C. Drayer, cousin of the deceased, of Rolling Hills Church, Pgh., PA, will officiate.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Erie, PA  16502.
