Darlene Reitinger

Darlene Ruth Lasko Reitinger, age 65, of Millcreek, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Erie, June 1, 1947, daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Lewis Snyder.

Darlene was a graduate of McDowell High School. She was an inspector for more than 30 years at Erie Ceramic Arts. She enjoyed gardening, camping, craft shows, and walks at Presque Isle. She cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and family gatherings.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Reitinger; four children, Darla Kindle and husband, Kevin; Gregory Lasko; James Lasko and wife, Amy; and Sara Hemphill and her companion, Zack. Five grandchildren, Justin, Ryan, Brittany, Jacob and Aryanna. Five sisters and brothers, Susanne Wilkins and husband, Chuck; Betty McKnight; Joseph Snyder, Jr. and wife, Jen; Ronald Snyder and wife, Linda; and Terri Peterson. Many beloved family members, friends, and her beloved dog, Emily also survive.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Avenue), Sunday from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm and are invited to attend the service there Monday morning at 11:00 am with Reverend Robert Lewis presiding.

Burial will be private at the family's convenience.

The family would like to thank the physicians and staff at the Regional Cancer Center and Great Lakes Hospice for the loving and compassionate care Darlene received throughout her illness.
