Daniel R. Yarington, age 66, of Slippery Rock and formerly of Girard, passed away Tuesday August 23, 2016 as a result of a motorcycle accident in Butler County.
He was born in Fairview, on June 13, 1950 a son of the late Sherman Yarington and Virginia Burkett Yarington Miller.
Daniel attended Rice Avenue Union High School and then enlisted in the United States Marines and served during the Vietnam War. He received a Purple Heart for his service.
He worked at PHB as a machinist for many years until his recent retirement. Daniel enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles. His children meant the world to him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William S. Yarington.
Daniel is survived by his children: Ryan Yarington and his fiancé, Meredith Kulago, Tyler and Bradley Yarington, all of Slippery Rock, and Sandy Della Torre of Florida; a sister, Cindy Wise; a brother, James S. Yarington; three half -brothers, Jim Hinkler, Stephen and David Yarington, and two half -sisters, Tina Yarington Macleod and Heather Yarington; three grandchildren. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard on Friday from 2pm until the time of the service at 4pm. with Rev. Charles Cammaratta officiating.
Burial will be at Girard Cemetery with full military honors.
