Daniel S. Lemmon, age 73, of Erie passed away at St. Vincent Health Center on September 10, 2013.
Born April 8, 1940 in Kittanning, PA, he was the son of Vivian Owens Lemmon of Erie, and the late James S. Lemmon.
Daniel served in the U. S. Navy during the Cuban Missle Crisis. He was employed in shipping and receiving at Lewis-Bawol Welding. He enjoyed gardening, mowing the lawn, walking with and spending time with his beloved dog Ellie. He was also a big New England Patriots fan.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen and his beloved dog, Ellie.
Survivors include his mother, Vivian; his loving wife of 23 years, Carol Ann Hunter Lemmon; son Daniel P. Lemmon (Amy) of Scottsville, KY; daughters Rebecca Lemmon of Rifle, CO; Tammy Lemmon of Nokomis, FL; sisters Judy Marini (John) of Erie and Sue Darr (Ken) of Chicago, IL. He is further survived by grandchildren Trista, Kyle and Keith Johnson of Sarasota, FL; Caitlyn, Alison, Jacob, Rick, Sam and Willie of Scottsville, KY; great-grandson Kody Embler of Sarasota, FL and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held there on Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Jeffrey J. Piccirilli of the Messiah Lutheran Church.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
