Daniel Coughlin

Daniel T. Coughlin, age 92, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Millcreek Community Hospital. He was born in Erie on February 11, 1926, the son of the late Daniel and Margaret (McKnight) Coughlin.

Daniel served in the US Navy and fought in World War II. Later he worked as a purchasing agent for the Hammermill Paper Company. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was also an avid golfer.

Besides his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sara “Sally” Hayes Coughlin, their son, Patrick W. Coughlin, a granddaughter, Mary Frances Coughlin, 2 brothers, Claude and Cornelius (Neal) Coughlin and 3 sisters; Marge Carey, Mamie Connell and Anne McBride.

Daniel is survived by his children, Kathy Huggins (Roger) of Erie, Jeanne Richardson (Michael) in Palm Bay, FL, Daniel “Butch” Coughlin Jr. (Karyn) of Erie, Wally Coughlin (Barbara) of Erie, and Robert Coughlin (Barbara) of Owingsville, KY. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren, along with a dear friend, Arlene Engel.

Daniel’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff and caregivers at Millcreek Community Hospital and LECOM Senior Living Center for their wonderful care and compassion.

Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home at West 9th & Liberty St. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 3:00 -5:00 and 7:00 -9:00 PM and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Friday at 10:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church 816 W. 26th St. Burial will be private.
