Cynthia Louise Weber, age 65, of Erie, passed away, Friday, June 30, 2023, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born in Erie, September 13, 1957, a daughter of the late Harry I. and Dorothy C. Lichtenwalter Weber.
After graduating from Academy High School in 1975, Cindy went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1979. Following college, she joined the U.S. Navy as a nurse. While in the Navy, she explored the world, living in places like Spain; Pensacola, FL; Norfolk, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Chicago, IL; San Francisco, CA and San Diego, CA before settling down to start a family in Erie, PA. She later served as a Labor & Delivery nurse and Mom/Baby Home Health nurse until her illness prohibited her from working any longer.
Cindy loved her family dearly - she was an amazing mother, sister, cousin, colleague and friend. Cindy was brought up in St. John’s Lutheran Church, participating in the church youth group where she formed many lifelong friendships.
Cindy also loved warm Lipton tea (splash of milk, one sugar), completing the daily Wordle, popping the bubble wrap that kept her packages safe, anything on clearance, Bridgerton, dachshunds, baking Christmas cookies (she would freeze them and mail them to her daughter in California), hot chocolate with a dash of Peppermint Schnapps in the cold Erie winters, exploring TJ Maxx and Marshall’s (she would want you all to know they have great deals on coffee) and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In her later years, Cindy spent many hours giving back to her community with her beloved therapy dog, Jolene. They would spread joy at nursing homes, daycares, the cancer wellness center, and more. Cindy was also active in her Erie Cancer Wellness Center group, attending group workouts, art classes, and making many friends along the way.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a cousin, Greg Mays.
Cindy will be greatly missed by her daughter, affectionately known as ‘bunny’ or ‘bun’, Hannah Jones, her son-in-law, John Rapp, son Hank Jones, brothers Tom and Donald Weber, and her cousin (more like sister) Heidi Mays-Weindorf, in addition to many other beloved family members and close friends.
Cindy brightened every room she was in with her infectious laughter and tenacious spirit. No amount of time with the incredible Cindy would have been enough for her family and friends - oh, how we loved her.
