Constance "Connie" M. LaJohn

Constance “Connie” M. (Stephany) LaJohn age 91, of Erie passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Manchester Commons. She was born May 31, 1933 in Erie the daughter of the late Cornelius and Sophie (Majchrzak) Stephany.

Connie was a graduate of Saint Benedict Academy and was a lifelong resident of Erie. She was a former member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic church and also St. Jude the Apostle Catholic church. Connie had worked at Erie Insurance and later with her husband Ronald J. LaJohn’s real estate business, LaJohn Realtors Gallery of Homes. She was an avid gardener and was past president of the Charter Oaks Garden club. 

Connie was also very active for many years with the Kid’s Café at the Neighborhood Art House. She was an excellent cook and crafter and loved following the lives and activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was an important part of her life along with her faith.

Connie and her late husband were also active at Lakeshore Country club and the former Erie Maennerchor club.

Besides her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. LaJohn who died in 1995.

Connie is survived by her four children; Stephanie Lorei and her husband Jeffrey of Erie; Mark LaJohn and his wife Jane of Jackson Hole, WY; John LaJohn and Greg LaJohn and his wife Stephanie all of Erie. She is the sister of James (Jim) Stephany of Nashville, TN and the proud grandmother of six and great-grandmother of four.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W.26th St. on Sunday October 13, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Further visiting on Monday at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 2801 W.6th St. from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at which time a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kid’s Café at the Neighborhood Art House, 201 E.10th St., Erie, PA 16503.
