Constance Kockler Burgert

Constance (Connie) Rae Kockler Burgert age 77, of Millcreek, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at her residence.

She was born in Franklin, PA on September 21, 1945, the daughter of the late John and Betty Kockler.

Connie graduated from Franklin High School in 1963 and obtained her R.N. license from Hamot Nursing School in Erie, PA. In 1967 she married her high school sweetheart, Joseph, whom she met in kindergarten.

After graduation, Connie worked as a nurse at Hamot Hospital. She also worked at Presbyterian Lodge, and Alpine Manor. She was the Quality Assurance Manager at Great Lakes Rehabilitation Hospital and the Director of Nursing at Sarah Reed Senior Living. She retired from her career at Highmark in Physician Relations.

Connie enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, volunteering at the Kearsarge Area Food Pantry and was a passionate person who enjoyed guiding others.

She was a member of The Jefferson Educational Society and Abiding Hope Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Burgert and her sister, Carroll Rarer.

She is survived by sons John Burgert (Sharon) and Jason Burgert (Mimi), sister-in-law Pam Burgert (Margo) and granddaughters Lindsey Burgert and Alyson Burgert.

Services will be private and are under the care of the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Abiding Hope Lutheran Church, Attention Kearsarge Area Food Pantry, 2402 West Grandview Blvd. Erie, PA 16506.
