Constance M. “Connie” Karle, age 83, of Erie, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family when her husband came to get her to be with him on the same day he passed away on January 5, 2017.
She was born in Erie on August 1, 1933 son of the late Peter and Julia Kuwick Kimet.
She graduated from East High School.
Constance was a devoted homemaker and a wonderful cook. She also was very creative, with a particular talent for ceramics. She loved gardening and was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and loved taking trips to see her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. “Tom” Karle; a son, Thomas M. Karle; and a sister Wanda Means.
She is survived by her son, Attorney Gregory A. Karle (Elaine) of Erie, five daughters; Julie Guillebeau of Wilmington, DE ; Paula Lyons (George) of Erie; Christine Karle of Erie; Erin Tangredi (Bob) of Chicago, IL; and Gretchen Lipski (Mark) of Tampa, FL; eleven grandchildren: Matthew, Michael, Andrew and Robert Karle, Tom and Grace Guillebeau, Karle, Connie and Mark Lyons and Bobby and Michael Tangredi; a brother, Daniel Kimet (Beverly) of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service there on Thursday at 8:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Church 2801 W. 6th Street Erie, Pa 16505 at 9:30 am with Rev. John Detisch and Rev. Leo Gallina co celebrants. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Erie Shriners Hospital for Children 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505 or to the charity of one’s choice.
