Colleen Stafford

Colleen “Kelly” (Tarr) Magyar Jordan Stafford age 59, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, November 06, 2013 at her residence.

Born in Erie on May 06, 1954 she was the daughter of late William F. and Margaret Glazier Tarr.

She graduated from McDowell High School.

Kelly loved to travel and was a pillar of the Erie Travel Community. She started her career as a travel agent selling cruises, hotels, and airline trips with Travel Agents International. She was promoted to Director of TAI Travel Academy where she recruited and trained students to become travel agents. Starting in 1983, Kelly was involved in the start up of Jetstream Airlines as Head of Sales and Marketing and as Station Manager through their merger with Piedmont Airlines in 1986 and subsequent merger with US Airways in 1988. She continued with US Airways as a Sales/Customer Service Agent until her retirement in 2007. She was a familiar voice at the Erie International Airport announcing arrivals and departures. She was familiar to many politicians and Erie dignitaries and was known for giving first class service to all.

She is survived by her son Corey Magyar and his wife Allie of Ridgefield, Washington, along with two grandchildren Gabrielle and Enzo. She is also survived by two sisters, Cynthia Montgomery and her husband Gary, Peggy Stefanovski and her husband John, one brother, Richard Tarr and his wife Debra, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. James Moelk officiating.
