Clayton Smith

Clayton Lee Smith, age 63 passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West following a 6 year battle with early onset dementia. Clayton was born in Erie on January 23, 1952 to Alfreda (Boyd) Smith Reynolds and Oliver Grover Reynolds.

He was a graduate of Fort LeBoeuf High School. He was active in wrestling and 4-H Clubs.

Prior to his illness, Clayton worked for the Borough of Wesleyville as a foreman , for 30 years.

In addition to his parents, Clayton was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Zank.

Clayton is survived by his wife of 16 years Patty Smith; two sons, Brian (Stephanie), VA, Steven (Melissa), Ohio and a daughter Stephanie (Isaac), TN; two step-daughters, Nicole Iarussi and Shonna Fluegel. Siblings are, James Reynolds (Beth), Idaho, Phyllis Safford (Tommy), Texas, Christine Williams (Bob), Albion, Helen Smith, Erie, Barbara Jackson, Florida, and Grover Reynolds, Texas. Brother-in-law, David Allshouse (Melissa), Pgh and 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed.

A celebration of Clayton’s life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 12 to 2:30PM AT THE Gatherings 2902 Reed St. Memorials may be made to Anna Shelter 1555 East 10th Street Erie, PA 16511 and Friends of Pleasant Ridge 8300 West Ridge Road Girard, PA 16417.
