Clayton E. Charity, age 72, of Erie, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at UPMC Hamot Hospital. He was born May 29th, 1949 in Richmond, VA, a son of the late Vernon H. Charity Sr., and Rosa Taylor Charity.
Clayton was a resident of Erie for 20 years, he was proud to serve in the United States Air Force, and provide for his family. He was stationed and went to school at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita, Texas as a welder. Clayton was stationed in the Philippines at Clark Air Force Base, where he worked as a painter, and participated at joint base Langley- Eustis Air Force Base in Newport, Virginia. He proudly continued to serve his country in the color guard.
In addition to his parents, He is preceded in death by his stepmother, Genevieve Charity, his wife, Cynthia E. Charity, five brothers, Christian, Emanuel, Lawrence, Clinton, Luther, and Vernon Charity.
Clayton leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Natasha and Bianca Charity, two brothers, Timothy Charity, and his wife Joann Charity, Arthur Hill of Florida; a sister Jacqueline Charity Dorsey and her husband Stanley, of Erie. He is further survived by a stepsister, Elsie Overton of Erie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Friends are invited to a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10th Street, Erie, with Reverend Gene Kennett officiating.
