     Clarence B. Pettigrew, Sr., 80, died Mon., Aug. 8, 2011 at his residence in Erie.  He was born July 9, 1931 in Erie, son of the late Carl H. and Jesse Taylor Pettigrew.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean Conflict.  He drove truck for Associated Transport and other trucking firms for 23 years and was a courier for Associated Clinical Laboratories for 15 years, retiring in Jan. 2002.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 397.
     He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Stella Maloney Pettigrew in 2002; a sister, Charlotte Long; and six brothers, Carl, Rex, Neal, Charles, Dhurword and Ronald D. Pettigrew.
     Survivors include three daughters, Joy Mills and husband David of Gaffney, SC, Valerie Tarkowski and husband Thomas of Cochranton, PA and Yvonne Thomas and husband Bruce of Goodyear, AZ; two sons, Clarence B. Pettigrew, Jr. and Ken Pettigrew and wife Karen, all of Erie; a sister, Janice Palmer of Ithaca, NY; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call Thursday 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St.  A service will be held there Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William Coleman of Luther Memorial Church officiating.  Burial will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by Erie Crawford County Burial Detail.  Memorials may be made to the Erie Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16508.
