Clarence “Butch” Colvin age 70 of Erie, died quietly at Twinbrook Medical Center on Sunday, February 9, 2014. He was born in Erie, Pa. on December 15, 1943 a son of the late Robert “Tom” and Kathryn Seus Colvin. Butch graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School and then studied at Gannon and Edinboro Universities receiving both a bachelors and master’s degree in education. He taught for more than 30 years in the Erie School District. In addition to teaching, he owned and operated Parmento’s Pizza Shop for many years.
Butch will be fondly remembered for his love of golfing, fishing, watching football, singing, and the time he spent with his family and friends.
Butch is survived by son, Bob Colvin (Leah) of Erie; son, Steve Colvin (Karla Steighner) of Erie; daughter, Katy Wolfrom (Sean) of Cambridge Springs; daughter Colleen Fadale (Mike Caro) of Erie and their mother Susan Colvin of Erie. Three grandchildren, Matt, Brian, and Lauren Colvin all of Erie.He is further survived by a sister, Jeanne Hatheway (Jack) of Dewittville, New York; sister, Kathleen “Toby” Birk (Richard) of Erie; brother, Thomas Colvin of Erie and many nieces and nephews.
The family is incredibly grateful to the entire staff of Twinbrook Medical Center for the care and kindness they showed over the last 15 months.
Friends may call at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, Pa. 16510 on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 2:00 till 4:00 pm and 7:00 till 9:00 pm and are invited to a mass of Christian burial at St. Peters Cathedral on Friday at 10:00 am with Father Ted Marconi officiating.
