Cindy Slick

Cindy L. Slick age 61, of Millcreek, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her wonderful friends and family.

She was born in Erie on April 26, 1957 the daughter of Carlota Roberts Slick of Erie and the late Sebert Powell Slick.

Cindy graduated from McDowell High School and went on to receive an undergrad degree from Clarion University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Edinboro University.

She worked as a Reading Specialist for over 20 years at St. Mark’s Catholic School and Adelphi Elementary School in Silver Spring, MD; and Millcreek Township Schools as a sub.

Cindy was an avid reader and enjoyed her book club. She was a devout member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church where she looked forward to attending bible study. She especially loved her trips to the casino with her brother, sister-in-law and friends. Cindy will forever be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor.  Cindy cherished time spent with her many friends and family, all who were touched by her amazing strength and great faith. She was a blessing to all who met her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Craig Slick and his wife Mary Beth of Erie and Curt Slick and his wife Tami of Lewistown, PA; and nieces and nephews, Justin, Heather, Jarrod, Eric, Cassidy, Mason and Ella.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26^th Street (at Powell Ave) on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church 1070 Dutch Road, Fairview, PA 16415.
