Cindy Dunham

Cindy L. Dunham, age 62, of Erie, passed away on Sunday September 9, 2018 at home surrounded by family. She was born July 19, 1956 in East Hampton, NY, the oldest daughter of the late Richard and Beverly Betkin Dunham.

Cindy grew up in East Hampton, NY, graduating from high school there.  Upon graduation, she worked at a large nursery on the Hamptons with acres of all sorts of trees and shrubs.   Her hard work earned her a management position within the company.  She then went on to own and manage her own landscaping business.   She ended up in Erie in 1997 where she became a home health caregiver with Home Instead.    She was a member of Abundant Life Church of Erie, where she sang on the praise team.

All her life, Cindy sacrificed for her family, putting her family before herself.   She had the strength of a warrior and was a leader to family and friends.  She was the best mother and grandmother and had a heart of gold. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Polly Valentine. 

Survivors include her children:  Jason Dunham (Jordan Baker) and their daughter Charlie Dunham of Erie,  Miguel Oquendo (Kendra Wagner) and their children Angelena Oless and Malikhi Oquendo of Erie, and Jessica Medina and her son Liam Christ of Long Island, NY.  She is further survived by her sisters: Kelly Dunham Fenelon, Becky Jane Dunham, Stacy Dunham, and Jenny Taylor. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10^th Street.   Burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery on Thursday Sept 13^th at 2pm.
