Christopher J. Watkins, 45, of Erie, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on February 23, 1972, in Erie, Pa., son of the late Debra L. Watkins Haffley and the late Joseph Martin. A graduate of Strong Vincent High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Christopher was a machinist working for various factories in Erie including Morris Coupling, Custom Engineering, Modern Industries, Team Hardinger and Yates Company. He enjoyed reptiles, dogs, and time spent fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholaus Paul Saldutti.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Baker; four sons, Justin Baker and Christopher Watkins of Erie and Jeremy and Jayden Baker at home; and his stepfather, Dwayne Haffley of Meadville, Pa. He is further survived by a sister, Anitra Saldutti; two brothers, William Martin and wife Lisette and Daniel Haffley and wife Danielle; and his grandmother, Florence Haffley, all of Erie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 3 p.m. Mr. Eric Campbell will officiate. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street Erie, PA 16502.
