Christopher Neal Hammill age 33, of Millcreek, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was born in Erie on November 11, 1983, the son of Neal and Antoinette Mack Hammill. Chris graduated from Mercyhurst Prep High School and continued his studies at Edinboro University receiving a degree in Sociology. He was employed by various social service entities throughout his career including: Sarah Reed Children’s Center, Edmund L. Thomas Center, and the Office of Children and Youth.
Chris was kind-hearted man, who was selfless, funny and a nerd at heart. He enjoyed collecting Griswold pieces, yo-yos, super hero memorabilia, antiquing, listening to pod casts and Ska music, creating in his workshop, and being with family and friends. He always thought of others before himself. He was an amazing and attentive son, grandson, and husband. He was a wonderful father to his son Max. He always got the best smiles from him.
To say he was a great person is a far understatement. He made a positive impact on everyone that he knew. We will remember his caring nature, creativity, big smile, witty words and his wonderful sense of humor.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Heather Cray Hammill; a son, Max Power Hammill; a sister, Carla Hammill and her husband Jason Pollitt; two nieces, Linnea and Evelyn Pollitt; grandmother, Mary Ann Mack; a mother and father-in-law, Mary and John Cray; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
