Christina Murphy

Christina Murphy, age 61, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her children after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Erie, November 12, 1961 to the late Albert “Tino” and Maryann DeMarco Achille. Christina was a graduate of Tech Memorial High School.

She was the food service manager for the Robert Benjamin Wiley Community Charter School. Christina loved her family, she was always the loudest in the room, and the life of the party. She was proud of her Italian Heritage, especially with cooking, her whole house always smelled of red sauce. Christina raised koi fish for many years, spending time landscaping so her pond looked perfect. She was a selfless, resilient, and a “feisty” person who was loved by all who met her.

Christina is survived by her children, Corey Murphy, Gregory Murphy (Kayla), Aaron Murphy, Christopher Pearson (Darrell), Melissa Gorniak, and Jillia Murphy. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Collin and Mackenzie Murphy, Tenley and Tanner Murphy, Aiyden Lewis, Ariana Murphy, Hunter and Amelia Pearson. Christina is survived by her siblings, Antonina Kowalczyk (Henry), Marielaina Carney (Bruce), Ann Marie Hart (Terry), Antonio P. Achille (Donna), Joseph L. Achille (Cathleen), and Albert A. Achille, Jr. (Cheryl). She is further survived by the father of her children, Michael Murphy, several nieces and nephews, close cousins and many many friends who loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents, Christina is preceded in death by her companion John Rowicki, and her dog Cuddles.

Friends are invited to call on the family Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of sharing at 6:00 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Service Inc. Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie.
