Chris F. Gallagher

April 18, 1943 — May 9, 2024

Chris F. Gallagher, age 81, of Erie passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024. He was born April 18, 1943 in Erie the son of the late Francis and Doris (Christensen) Gallagher.

A lifelong resident of Erie, Chris was retired as a welder from Amthor Steel and Erie’s General Electric. He was an avid boater and fisherman who was a member of 3CU and could always be found on the water when conditions permitted. Chris was a past president of the Browns Backers Club and also belonged to the Siebenbuerger club. His greatest joy was following the activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue (Kroh) Gallagher and four daughters; Karen Vannucci (Fred) of Erie, Leslie Gallagher-Kelly of Parachute, CO, Michele Rion of Erie, and Christine Gallagher-Shipley (Warren) of Winter Park, FL. He is the brother of Brian P. Gallagher of North Lima, OH and is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W.26th St. on Monday May 13, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Tuesday at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
