Chester Joseph "Chet" Tucholski

Chester Joseph “Chet” Tucholski, age 89, passed away on April 4, 2025, at UPMC Hamot surrounded by his family. He was born in Erie on May 22, 1935, to the late John and Beatrice Tucholski.

Chester served in the U.S. Navy for four years and he loved to show pictures and talk about his experience. Chet retired from Unsco Linen where he worked for 45 years. He was a great saxophone player for Jonie and the Blue C’s where he also loved to sing. Chet and Shirley loved to travel to Texas in the winter for approximately 10 to 12 years. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Chester is preceded in death by his sister, Helen; brother, Stanley; his two young daughters, Rebecca at age two and Deborah as an infant, and his first wife, Virginia.

Chester is survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Tucholski of Erie; sons, Chester and Andy Tucholski of Erie; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as 7 step-children.
