Cheryl Rodgers

Cheryl J. Rodgers, age 71, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Erie on June 10, 1946, a daughter of the late William V. and Jean L. (Wittenburg) Lossie.

Cheryl was a 1964 Graduate of McDowell High School and a member of the Jr. R.O.T.C. program.  Cheryl worked quality control at Engineered Plastics and also worked at EMSCO Plastics and Thomas Erie. She loved plants, her bird feeders and watching deer in the backyard.  She also loved spending time with all her family and was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of 19 years, Jerry James and a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and John Schenker.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew “Jack” Rodgers; four children, Vickie (Kevin) Morse of East Springfield, Michael (Penny Williams) James, Becky James and Randy (Conny) James, Sr. all of Girard, five stepchildren, Lisa (Bill) Chaffey of Colorado, Andrea McCall of Erie, Shelly (John Minns) Rodgers of Fairview, Patrick (Ginger) Rodgers of Oregon, and Michael (Lena) Rodgers of Colorado, 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and four siblings, Charlene (Larry) Champlin of Conneaut, OH, Barbara (Dale Werner) Eddy of Erie, Rick (Sherry) Winkelman of Cambridge Springs, PA and Beverly (Rich) Bliss of Girard, PA.  She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Autumn (Larry) Riley of Conneaut, OH and Claudia (Leonard) Clawson of Erie, PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26^th Street, (at Powell Avenue,) on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Nicola Vitiello of First Presbyterian Church of Girard presiding.  Burial immediately following at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
