Cheryl J. (Delinski) Kania, age 50, of Erie, passed away at UPMC Hamot on Thursday, April 21, 2016, after an extended illness.
She was born September 9, 1965, the daughter of Raymond and Theresa (Karmazin) Delinski.
Cheryl was a graduate of Tech Memorial High School and Saint Vincent School of Nursing and went on to become a registered nurse at Millcreek Community Hospital, where she worked for 25 years.
She was a Eucharistic Minister and an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church; a leader for the Girl Scouts of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Troop #245; and was involved in many school activities at Mercyhurst Preparatory School.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Raymond, in 2012.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 30 years, Casimir Kania and one daughter, Arianne R. Kania, of Erie. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins and her beloved dog, Pugsly.
Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road on Monday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and are invited to a funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1553 East Grandview Blvd. on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Father Raymond Hahn, celebrant. Burial will follow at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
