Cheryl Davis

Cheryl Ann Davis, AKA Cheryl Ann August, age 71, of Erie and formerly Fort Wayne IN, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at her residence.

Cheryl was born in Ithaca, NY, on July 19, 1949, a daughter of the late John W. and Gladys Tobey Wilcox.  She graduated from Andrew Warde HS in Liverpool NY, Bay Minette College, AL, and Ivy Tech Community College, IN with a degree in Medical Assisting.  Cheryl held a variety of positions including hotel hospitality, secretary and insurance sales and service.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having spent 40 years of service in leadership positions.  Cheryl enjoyed volunteering at many women’s organizations and was interested in genealogy.  She was a gifted sewer, quilter and knitter.

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her husband Greg August.  She is survived by her husband Ronald L. Davis and her daughters Kristen Johns of Savannah GA and Heather Kaiser of Oil City.  She is further survived by her grandchildren: Jasmine, Maradythe and Mariah Neal, Kameron, Hannah and Logan Angst.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Rd, on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and are invited to attend her funeral service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1101 South Hill Rd. on Wednesday March 10, 2021 at 12:00 Noon.  Burial will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

Memorials may be made ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­to a charity of one’s choice.
