Charlotte Maurice

Charlotte “Charlie” A. Maurice, age 71, of Erie, died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at her residence.

She was born February 6, 1944 in Ripley, NY, a daughter of the late William and Florence Ettinger.

Charlie graduated from Ripley High School in NY in 1963, and had been a ward clerk at St. Vincent Health Center for more than 15 years.

She loved their dog “Divot”, playing golf, gardening, walking, and gambling. Charlie was a life member of the Sunflower Club, the South Erie Turners, V.F.W. #470, and American Legion Post #773.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Howard Ettinger and his wife Pearl, and John Ettinger and his wife Marge.

Survivors include her son Nicholas Maurice of Green Bay, WI, grandchildren Brandon and Madison Maurice of Erie, one great granddaughter, her partner in life, William Chapin, six sisters: Verna Wohlfiel of Grand Island, NY, Donna Ingram of Orlando, FL, Carol Ettinger of Dalton, GA, Barbara Johnson of Bemus Point, NY, Deborah Abbott of Palmento, FL and Marie Jones of St. Petersburg, FL.

Services are private at the convenience of the family, with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th St.
