Charlotte Catherine Doehrel, age 89 of Millcreek, Pa., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Born in Erie on April 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Marie (Hoffstetter) Bobb. Charlotte was a 1947 graduate of Academy High School and worked as a bookkeeper at Baldwin Brothers for 21 years.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Charlotte is survived by her husband of 68 years, LeRoy Edward Doehrel whom she married on April 8, 1950. They were inseparable companions from their first meeting and always at one another’s side sharing a lifetime of love.
She also leaves her four children, Andrew (Joan) Doehrel, Analee (Jonathan) Cree, Aaron (Karen) Doehrel and April (Anthony) Wujcik; nine grandchildren, Amber (Ryan) McCulley, Grant (Brenda) Doehrel, Adam (Brittany) Doehrel, Justin (Caitlin) Cree, Mariah (Joshua) Loutzenhiser, Jacob (Marion) Doehrel, Alyssa (Aaron) Grill, Emily Wujcik, Evan Wujcik; and eight great-grandchildren, Lena, Isla, Elaina, Drew, Macy, Raelyn, Kindra and Lincoln.
Charlotte was a charter member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, now Abiding Hope Lutheran Church. For many years she volunteered and ushered for the Erie Philharmonic where she and LeRoy were recognized as volunteers of the year in 2001. She found great pleasure spending time with her family, taking sunset drives on Presque Isle and working on a jigsaw puzzle. The annual family weekend, first to Cook Forest and later at Oglebay, was and is a beloved family tradition. Charlotte leaves us with wonderful memories and traditions. She was a woman who appreciated life and counted all her blessings each day; passing this value of family, faith in God and the power of love onto her children and grandchildren.
