Charles Wilt

Charles E. Wilt, age 87, of Solon, OH, formerly of New Castle and Erie PA, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 24, 2018.

Charles graduated from Gannon University in Erie, PA. During the Korean War he served in the United States Army in Heidelberg Germany as a Cryptographer. Charles was also a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Solon, OH. For thirty years he worked for the PA Department of Environmental Resources in their Water Safety Division.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Wysocki.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen (Calvano) Wilt, and is the loving father of Cindy (Paul) Koenig and Chip (Rosana) Wilt; dear grandfather of William (Zhen) Koenig, Gregory Koenig, Thomas Koenig Michael Wilt, and Estefania Wilt.

Friends may call at the Quinn Funeral Home, 728 West Ninth Street, Erie, on Saturday October 27, 2018 from 9:30AM until 10:30AM, at which time a Prayer Service will be held followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 816 W 26th St, Erie. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
