Charles S. Shepegi age 92, of Fairview passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at
Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home.
Born in Cranesville on February 9, 1922, he was the son of the late Samuel and Pearl
Petrowich Shepegi.
He attended Mohawk School in Cranesville. He served in the United States Army and
was in the Pacific Theater during WW II. Charlie was a fork lift operator for GAF in Erie
for over 40years. He enjoyed hunting and was a cat lover. He was a member of St. James
Lutheran Church in Fairview for many years and enjoyed helping his son on their family
farm in Cranesville.
He is survived by his daughter Charleen Karlock and her dear friend David Curry of
Waterford; one son: Larry Shepegi and his wife Sue of Cranesville; a brother Joseph
Shepegi and a sister Agnes Chivari, both of Florida; 3 grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, Inc. 525 East Main St. Girard on Monday
From 3-7 pm and are invited to funeral services on Tuesday at 11 am at St. James
Lutheran Church, Fairview with Reverend Brenda Martin officiating. Inurnment in
Fairview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
