Charles Ritchie

Charles E. Ritchie, age 70, of Erie, passed away at home on Sunday, October 7, 2018. 

He was born in Erie on September 8, 1948, a son of the late John D. and Leola Holloway Ritchie, Sr. 

Charles earned his GED and later took additional college courses.  He was previously employed at Erie Casting Company.  He enjoyed stained glass pieces including lamps, jewelry boxes and pictures.  He had a vibrant sense of humor and was a real character who kept everyone laughing.  He was a loving brother who cherished his family and will be missed by all. 

Charles is survived by twelve siblings, Frances Beason (Sam), John D. Ritchie, Jr. (Dolores), Hallie Ruffin, Loretta Ritchie, Nancy Sykes (Royce), Mae Amos (Clarence), Clarence Ritchie,  Furman Ritchie, Bertha Williams (Willis), Theodore Ritchie (Rozelyn), Larry Ritchie (Bernice) and Anthony Ritchie.  Further surviving are a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. 

Friends are invited to call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10^th St., Erie, on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m.
