Charles Goehring

Charles William “Bill” Goehring age 72, of Millcreek, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Erie on March 20, 1949 the son of the late Melvin (Dutch) and Erma Ehrler Goehring.

Bill was a 1967 graduate of Cathedral Prep and Gannon University in 1972.

He was a member of the Erie Siebenbuerger Club and the Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Bill had a great sense of humor, always made everyone laugh and made friends everywhere he went. He loved to have fun, have a cold Bud Light and was an avid Erie Otters, Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Sabres fan. Bill was a devoted family man and especially loved his grandchildren and nieces and nephews and never missed any of their activities.

He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling in the Grandpa’s League at South Erie Turners.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother Mimi.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Rebecca Riesdorph Goehring; two daughters, Annmarie Goehring Patterson and Amy Goehring Wilson; four grandchildren, Andrew (Megan) Patterson, Sarah (Jared) Chromik, Sam (Rachel) Patterson and Hannah (Cory) Gransbury; brother-in-law, Thomas (Lynn) Riesdorph; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great grandnieces and many special friends especially, Ruth and Pat Wynne and Jim and Judy Galvin. Bill will also be missed by his cat, Scotty.

The family would like to say thank you to Dr. David Seastone, John Barnett,CRNP, Scott Hayes, Danielle Hopkins, RN (the hugger) and the entire UPMC Hospice team for their exceptional care and support.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
