Cecyl Simon

Cecyl “Ceil” Marie Hill Simon of Millcreek, age 95, passed away on Thursday June 28, 2018.

Cecyl was born in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania on March 23, 1923 the daughter of the late Raymond Lee and Carrie Reeder Hill. Cecyl graduated from Chambersburg high school in 1941. A resident of Erie since 1956, when she moved here from Philadelphia, she attended Erie Business College and was secretary to the president of Erie Technological Products for 15 years before transferring to Parker White Metal where she was a buyer for 14 years, retiring in 1987. Upon retirement she worked for her son at Gravely Tractors doing secretarial and miscellaneous jobs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William James Simon. She was the sixth of seven children, and was predeceased by all of her siblings; Leslie Hill, Robert Hill, Edna Crouse, Isabel Brand, Vera Forbes and Naomi Christensen. She was a good friend of Chuck Roberts who also preceded her.

Cecyl is survived by her son, William Lee Simon, grandchildren William Charles Simon and Kristina Simon (Sargeant) Bennett, and great grandchildren Kylie, Ethan and Aileena Sargeant.

Friends are invited to call on the family at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home at 3801 W. 26^th (at Powell Ave.)  on Monday July 2 from 11:00am until the time of the service at 1:00pm.

Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
