Cathy Preston

Cathy Preston age 60, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at UPMC Hamot surrounded by her family.
She was born in Erie on May 2, 1957 the daughter of the late Emerson L. and Pearl L. Wantz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Preston and her siblings, Nancy Tuk, Carol Wantz, and Robert Wantz.
Cathy was a graduate of Academy High School in 1975 and continued to Penn State Behrend graduating in 1979. She obtained her Master’s degree from Gannon University in Mental Health Counseling in 1991. She began working for Millcreek Community Hospital and ventured into working as a counselor in both Catholic and public schools.  Cathy was an active member in local churches and loved serving the Lord and had the opportunity to do mission work in Israel, China, and Columbia. She was very active in local politics and played a huge involvement and was an advocate in local Christian Creation education.
She is survived by her son John and wife Chrissy of Erie, grandchildren: Julia, Cassandra, and Timothy John; brother, Bill; brother in law, Vincent Tuk; nieces: Barbara Scott, Karen Tuszynski, Jennifer Correll, and Emily Senita; and many great nieces, cousins, and their families.
The family would like to invite all to a Celebration of Life Memorial on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Southside Baptist Church 8184 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16509.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church or to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research 2990 S. Sepulveda Blvd Suite 300C, Los Angeles, CA 90064.
