Cathleen Quirk

Cathleen “Cathy” T. Quirk, 74, formerly of Erie, passed away at her residence at Wingate at Needham in Needham, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Cathleen was born February 17, 1944 in Erie, PA the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Rosemarie Koos Quirk.

Cathleen or “Cathy”, as she was known by all, was a graduate of St. Benedict Academy and she received a B.A. from Duquesne University and a M.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She was a lifelong learner, teacher and cat lover. She studied several foreign languages and her travels took her to Europe, Mexico, and through most of the U.S.A. Cathy was a lyric poet who loved to read and write poetry.

She is survived by her three brothers, Michael Quirk and his wife, Angelika, of San Rafael, California, Thomas Quirk and his wife Lynne, of St. Louis, Missouri and Patrick Quirk and his wife, Rosemary, of Erie, PA. Cathleen is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews and their respective families.

There will be no visitation. Private funeral services will be held by the family with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
