Catherine Petre

Catherine M. Petre age 91 of Highland Heights, OH and formerly of Erie, PA, died on June 30, 2014 at her home in Richmond Heights, OH. She was born in Dillonvale, Ohio on June 16, 1923, the daughter of the late Edward and Julia Zambon Charvat.

Catherine was a graduate of Dillonvale High School and a graduate of the Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing, Wheeling, West Virginia. She served in the Navy Nurse Corps during WWII at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Philadelphia.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Dr. John H. Petre, two sisters, Lois Casagrande and Caroline Andrasek, and her brother Joseph Charvat.

She is survived by her sister Marian Renda of Steubenville, OH, a daughter, Julia Grace, (Robert) of Mentor, OH, a son, John H. Petre, III, (Susan) of Cleveland Heights, OH; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, August 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Saviour, 2537 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118.
