Carter "Mick" Mccune

Carter "Mick" McCune, 83, of Girard, died on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge.  Formerly of Orchard Drive, Fairview.  He was born on January 11, 1934, in Erie, Pa., son of the late Frank and Stella Marecek McCune. 
     A graduate of Tech Memorial High School he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the U.S. Navy.  "Mick" worked for National Fuel Gas for 33 years, retiring in 1994.  He was a member of Northwestern PA Duck Hunters' Association and enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing, hunting, and traveling to Europe and Alaska.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael R. McCune in 1958, and two sisters, Donna Floros and Patricia Schodt.
     Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ann E. "Betty" Nuber McCune; a daughter, Colleen Long of Girard; a son, Shawn McCune of Lake City, Pa.; three granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m.  The Rev. Richard H. Page of Grace Church, McKean, will officiate.  Private burial will be at Erie Cemetery.
