Carolyn A. Gott age 71, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. She was born in Erie on April 20, 1942 the daughter of the late Eugene and Evelyn C. Irish Neuburger. She was a 1960 graduate from Strong Vincent High School and then went on to receive a degree from Florida State University in food and beverage. Carolyn worked as the cafeteria manager for Mercyhurst Prep School for many years. She was a member of St. Julia Church.
Carolyn enjoyed reading, doll collecting, watching Cleveland Browns and Indian games with Jim. She also enjoyed her knitting club with ‘the girls’ on Wednesday nights at the pizza shop. But one of her life’s greatest joys and pastime would probably of been spending time with her precious grandchildren and grand-dogs
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Richard Neuburger. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Gott of Erie; a son, David Gott of Florida; a daughter, Tracy Ozimek and her husband Rich of Erie and two grandchildren, Taylor and Eric Ozimek. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the Burton Westlake Funeral Home.
