Caroline L. Reichel, age 75 of Erie, passed away on November 24, 2017 at the Village at Luther Square. She was born on August 22, 1942, a daughter of the late John Nicholas and Williametta Nass Reichel.
Caroline attended Strong Vincent High School and was a bookkeeper for Jarecki Jewelers for 45 years. She was a member of the Erie Historical Society, Erie Yesterday and Erie Maritime Museum. Caroline loved lady bugs and bird watching and was a member of the Audubon Society. She was the family genealogist and known to many as the “Erie’s Cemetery Lady,” remembering those who built the foundation of the city of Erie.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Linley J. and Harry E. Reichel.
Caroline is survived by five nieces and nephews, seven great nieces and nephews, three great-great nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th St. on Thursday, November 30 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., and are invited to a time of sharing at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Erie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th St., Erie, PA 16505.
