Caroline Morrow

February 4, 1931 — December 14, 2021

Caroline Ann Scheffer Morrow, age 90, of Erie, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Erie, PA on February 4, 1931, the only daughter of the late George Washington and Lulu Maud Miller Scheffer. 

Caroline was a graduate of Academy High School, Winter Class of 1949. Ever dedicated to physical fitness, she was an active member of the Glenwood YMCA for over 60 years. She was also a member of the Wesleyville Ladies Auxiliary, and the D.A.R.

An involved member of the community, Caroline was an elder and deacon at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church (a member since 1943), a Den Mother for her boys’ scout troops, a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts, school PTAs and more. She enjoyed gathering regularly with her friends, loved the outdoors, enjoyed camping at a family cabin in Spring Creek, PA and visiting locales like Presque Isle and the Erie Zoo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Milton Morrow, a son, James R. Morrow, a grandson, David Morrow and her four brothers, Raymond, James, Earl and George Scheffer.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. (Nathan) Schultz of Sanford, NC, three sons, Brian L. (Janice) Morrow of Erie, Glenn J. (Pamela) Morrow of Titusville, David E. (Bonnie) Morrow of Layton, Utah, nine grandchildren, Angela Watkins, Hannah Smith, Erin Campbell, Jaquelynn Brown, Sarah Morrow, David Bartlebaugh, Daniel Schultz, Christopher Schultz, Lee Morrow, 17 great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law Jerry Morrow and sister-in-law Lois Scheffer.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, on Monday December 20, 2021 from 2–7 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Rick Cepris officiating.  Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 3520 Perry Street, Erie, PA 16504.
