Carol A. York

Carol A. York, age 79, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at UPMC Hamot Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 18, 1944, in Union City, PA, to the late William and Agnes (Burlingham) Lasher. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by son-in-law, Charles Burnett and brothers, William Lasher, Arthur Lasher and John Lasher.

Carol lived her life to help others, she was a caregiver to many as a young adult, both family and friends. She was involved in her church and taught children at Sunday School. When she later married, she devoted herself to her family and in raising her three daughters. She taught them the love of music, reading and crafting. In her later years Carol loved spending time with family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed bingo, card games and puzzles.

She leaves behind to cherish her in memory, her daughters, Christie York, Misty Parrett (Rick), and Nicole Burnett; son, Daryl Szczesny; grandchildren, Jessi and Jake Szczesny; sister, Nancy Burnett and brother, Daryl Lasher.
