Carol Tipton

Carol Bianchi Tipton, age 74 of Erie passed away on May 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 9, 1947 the daughter of the late John H. (Jack) Bianchi, III and Helen ”Pinky” Fenser Bianchi.

Carol went to Ambridge High School and then graduated from Edinboro University. She was a middle school teacher in the Iroquois School District. She also sold insurance for American General and Western Southern and was the assistant manager at Books Galore. She was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club, Retiree Association P.A.R.S.E. and Retired PA Employees Chapter 8503, where she was the recording secretary. She was also active with the Community Services Committee of Erie and Crawford County Labor Council. Carol had a love of literature, the performing arts and enjoyed caring for all of those she loved, most recently her great niece Novarria White.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Laurel L. Bianchi-White and infant great-grandson, Theodore James Squires.

Carol is survived by her husband, Dennis Tipton; daughter, Shawna Squires Slye (Tom); son, Jeffrey J. Squires (Brenda) of Erie; stepchildren, Amber Tipton of Pittsburgh, Andrea Tipton Rudolph (Michael) of Farmingville, NY. She is further survived by grandchildren, Chloe and Nathan Runninger (Kelly), Dylan Squires (Megan), Kayci Squires and Alexander “Lex” Rudolph; great-grandson, Erik Owen Runninger, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of UPMC Hamot and the Hillman Cancer Center for their care.
