Carol Szostek (Santill)

Carol M. Szostek (Santill), age 78, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital.
She was born on July 15, 1943, in Ashtabula, Ohio, beloved daughter of Virginia H. (nee Patterson) and Frederick John Santill; and step-daughter of the late Henry Udell.

Carol attended Mother of Sorrows grade school and went on to graduate Class of 1961 from Saint John High School, in Ashtabula. In her younger years she enjoyed spending time at Walnut Beach, and loved to dance! She moved to Cleveland following high school and settled in Independence, Ohio where she was passionate about flowers and loved to work in her yard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sister Dolores L. Santill, A.N.G., Frederick H. Santill, and Bernadette Tegal (Santill).

Carol will forever be missed by her husband, Kenneth; her children, Gina Mussett (David), Bonnie Harvey (Geoff), and Donna Day; granddaughter, Olivia Mussett; brother, Alfred Santill; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass, Monday at 10:00 AM at Mother of Sorrows Church, 1464 W 6th St, Ashtabula, OH 44004. Following the Mass, Carol will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery. Local arrangements were handled by the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 W 10 St, Erie, 16502.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carol’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, PO BOX 37920, Boone IA 50037-0920 or to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org/donation.
