Carol Quinn-Portenier

Carol Jean Hohler Quinn-Portenier, age 79, died peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2013 with her loving family at her side following an extended illness.
She was born August 22, 1934 in Erie, PA and was the daughter of the late Norbert F. and Charlotte E. Parker Hohler.
Carol was a graduate of Academy High School.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 28 years, Robert N. Portenier.
She was the loving mother of eight children from her previous marriage to the late Richard D. Quinn.
Survivors include children, Stephen Quinn, Dianne Matters (Paul), Christine Harris (William), Leslie Freeman (Michael), Cheryl Rekitt (Edward), Dana Quinn (Janet), Vickie Abbott (Donald), Lana Kownacki (Charles); sister, Patricia Healy (Richard); grandchildren, Cara Schaaf (Ryan), Courtney Yates (David), Christopher Freeman, Jonathan Freeman, Mandy Rekitt,  Shanna Quest (Ron),  Angela Reno (Tim), Adam Rekitt (Megan), Joshua Rekitt, Jessica  Clark (Chris), Johanna Coppock (Jason), Jamie Magee, Alexander Kownacki; 18 great-grandchildren; as well as a niece and nephew.
Carol was preceded in death by her nephew, Ronald Healy.
She enjoyed shopping and finding treasures at garage sales and thrift stores, was a big fan of Erie Otters hockey and was a season ticket holder for many years.
 
Arrangements are entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, PA. No calling hours will be observed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday September 16, 2013 at 9:00 AM at Saint Joseph Church, Bread of Life Community, 147 West 24th St, Erie, PA with Rev. Mike DeMartinis officiating.  Inurment will be immediately following at Calvary Cemetery-Mausoleum.
