Carol Pella

Carol Anne Pella, age 62, died March 28, 2013 at Fairview Manor.

She was born December 22, 1950 to John and Genevieve "Jo" Malone Pella in Kittanning, PA. The family moved to Millcreek in 1952.

Carol graduated from McDowell High School and continued studies at the main campus of the Pennsylvania State University graduating in 1974 with a B.A. in Journalism.

She began working at the CBS Television Network affiliate in Erie that same year becoming the first woman to anchor the local news in Erie. Carol worked there for 28 years until she was forced to file for disability.

Carol is survived by her sisters, Janice McCuiston of Denver, CO; Patricia Pella of Erie and her brother, Charles Pella and his wife Kate of Cochranville, PA. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, cousins and many friends, especially Shirley Yeager.

At her request, there will be no visiting hours nor service at this time. A memorial service will be held at a future date.

Carol requests memorial contributions be made to Emmaus Ministries, where they feed the hungry, both body and soul, children and adults, 345 East 9th Street, Erie, PA 16503-1107.
