Carol M. Koebe

Carol M. (Keller) Koebe, age 86, of Erie passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the LECOM Senior Living Center. She was born on December 22, 1938 in Erie, PA, the daughter of the late Valentine and Margaret (Foran) Keller.

Carol received a master’s degree in education from Edinboro College and for 30 years was an elementary school teacher with the Erie School District. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic church and enjoyed knitting, reading, pandas, and listening to all kinds of music. Her greatest love was her two granddaughters, who she nicknamed, Caiti-poo and Auna-banauna. She was beloved as a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, cousin, and grandmother. 

Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a sister Jeanne Rectenwald and a niece, Susan Rectenwald Wilson.

She is survived by a son, Roger “Toby” Koebe and his wife Jennifer of Erie and is the proud grandmother of Caitlin and Anna Koebe. She is also survived by a sister, Marjorie Clark of Erie; a niece, Sara Rectenwald Vollmer (Charles) and is the great-aunt to Zachary (Rachel), Noah and Abby Vollmer and Reid Wilson. Also surviving are the Foran cousins and many dear friends.

Friends are invited to call at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1116 West 7th St. on Monday February 3,2025 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at which time a Funeral Mass will be celebrated.

Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.
