Carol Arndt

November 10, 1944 — June 23, 2014

Carol Ann (Baumgardner) Arndt, age 69 of Millcreek, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loved ones at home, on Monday June 23, 2014, following a short battle with a rare aggressive cancer.

She was born in Erie, PA on November 10, 1944, daughter of the late Cora (Vogel) Baumgardner and Elmer Baumgardner.

Carol worked for many years at various restaurants in Erie, PA before and after opening her own restaurant in the City of Erie in 1993. She retired from the food service industry shortly after her son, Dale, had a heart transplant in 2005.

She was dedicated to her children and five granddaughters who she loved dearly. In addition, she supported CORE (Center for Organ Recovery and Education) as well as Team Pittsburgh for the bi-annual transplant Olympics. She enjoyed BINGO and playing online games during her free times. She also loved camping, the casino and going to the German Heritage Festival every year.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her soul mate and father of her four children, Robert W. Arndt.

She leaves to cherish her memory her four children; daughter Connie (Arndt) Ottoson and her husband Kevin of Springhill, FL; and sons Dale Arndt, Dan Arndt and his wife Ruth (Dimperio) , and Brad Arndt and his wife Stacey (Keller) all of Erie; and five grandchildren - Kellsie, Kara, Brianna, Brittney, and Elizabeth. She is also remembered by her sister, Debbie (Baumgardner) Hardner and family. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and are invited to the service there on Saturday at 10: 00 am with Rev. Dan Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Erie Cemetery.
