Carmelo Dalleo, age 89, of Erie passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Fairview Manor with his family at his side. He was born September 6, 1927 in Villa Priolo, Sicily the son of the late Joseph and Felica Paridiso Dalleo. In his youth, Carmelo played soccer for his hometown club. In 1947 he came to the United States and began working for 29 years with the former Marx Toy Company and later spent 14 years at Erie’s General Electric. Carmelo was a former member of St. Paul RC Church and enjoyed the times spent with family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Charlie Bongiovanni and Rocco Sivillo along with two nieces; Robin Sivillo and Natalie Sivillo Herrick.
He is survived by his wife Antoinette Sivillo Dalleo; a son, Carmen Anthony Dalleo and his wife Jacqueline of Erie and two grandchildren; Sarah Dalleo Fisher and her husband Caleb, and Dan Dalleo. He is the brother of Marie Bongiovanni of Denver, CO and the brother –in-law of John Sivillo of Erie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Carmelo’s family would like to thank Home Instead for the wonderful care provided to him during his final illness.
